Former Peace Corps Volunteer Andrew
Parrucci:
Andrew lived and worked for two years
in Nuevo Paraíso, one of Planting Empowerment’s
pilot communities. He maintains close relationships
with many of the area leaders and potential leasers
of land to PE. He is in charge of obtaining lease
contracts and managing the planting operations
done in the area, as well as overseeing relations
with the involved landowners. Andrew is Planting
Empowerment’s Director of Operations.

Former Peace Corps Volunteer Andrew Wulf:
Andrew worked for three years in agricultural/business training and general development with farmer/exportation cooperatives. He also trained Peace Corps volunteers and worked extensively with Panamanian government agencies and NGO’s. Currently attending business school in Arizona, Andrew acts as a consultant to the business development and operations director.

Former Peace Corps Volunteer Chris Meyer:
Chris
worked for almost two years in rural economic
development in the Coclé province of Panama,
followed by an additional year as the Peace Corps
leader for the entire Darien province. Director
of Business Development, Meyer is currently in
Washington, DC and in charge of overall coordination
of the business. He will be responsible for finding
corporate and private investors and making necessary
partnerships with environmental organizations
and other development groups.

Head Forester Carlos Espinosa:
Carlos joined Planting Empowerment in January. He has a wealth of experience planning and managing the plantations of privately held reforestation enterprises. He has provided technical assistance to numerous national and international organizations such as USAID and The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. Having worked extensively in the province, Carlos is familiar with the social and environmental conditions in the Darién.

Former Peace Corps Volunteer Damion Croston:
Damion lived and worked for two and a half years in Arimae, the pilot community of Planting Empowerment’s indigenous operation. Having gained the trust of the people and a leadership status, he is well regarded by the village leaders. Damion will ensure the community members understand their respective responsibilities, and that Arimae is maintaining its contractual agreements. As Community Liason he is in charge of negotiating the initial agreement and maintaining relations with the indigenous communities.
