Studies and Analyses

Old growth logs headed to Panama

Our approach is based on innovative work in sustainable development, forestry, and impact investing.

As a business, we are constantly evaluating ideas and models that push beyond ineffective existing models. The studies and analyses that have influenced us the most are included below.

Studies

  • The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity
  • Indigenous livelihoods, slash-and-burn agriculture, and carbon stocks in Eastern Panama
  • Feasibility of Teak Production for Smallholders in Eastern Panama
  • The fate of the tropical forest: Carbon or cattle?
  • Growth equations and rotation ages of ten native tree species in mixed and pure plantations in the humid neotropics

For our own part, we contribute the following to this growing collection:

  • UNDP case study on our pioneering Equitable Forestry model
  • Analysis of the potential for bio-char as a revenue source for Planting Empowerment
